Terms of service
1. Prices and payment
Project prices are fixed. TRACIO Limited is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged. Prices are set in euros, with fixed price lists in pounds sterling and US dollars; you pay in the currency shown at checkout, and an order keeps that currency, including its care plan. Payment is by card via Stripe, or by bank transfer when offered. A local bank may add a fee. Publicly listed project prices range from €400 to €2,400 (or the equivalent in the price list of your currency). With add-ons, a project paid through this site can total up to €3,000 (section 2); work above €3,000 is agreed in writing after a call. VAT is applied according to your billing country and whether you buy as a business, and shown on the order and invoice. Hosting and care plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly (a yearly plan costs ten monthly payments). Payment is by card through Stripe Checkout or by bank transfer when offered. A project starts when payment is confirmed: immediately for card payments, and when we mark a transfer as received.
2. Scope, caps and add-ons
Each package has the scope and caps listed on its service page and on pricing: pages, products, copy, images and revision rounds. Add-ons raise those caps at the listed prices. A project paid through this site stays at or under €3,000 in total (or the equivalent in the price list of your currency).
3. What you provide
Your logo if you have one, photos, what the business does, contact details for the site, and timely answers. You confirm you have the right to use everything you send us. Not included unless a package says otherwise: a new brand identity, copy beyond the intake, ads, photography, and more than the stated revision.
4. Approvals and locks
Packages from €1,200 (or the equivalent in the price list of your currency) follow this order: brief, concept, design, build, test, review, deploy, managed. You confirm the brief, approve the concept, approve the design and accept the review, each before the next stage begins. The Page (€400) and Brochure site (€720) packages follow brief, build, test, review, deploy: you confirm the brief, then see one preview and send one revision. Dates move by the number of working days an approval is outstanding beyond 24 hours (section 14).
5. Revisions
One revision round is included in review unless your package or add-ons say otherwise. A round is one consolidated list of changes, sent in one message. On packages with a design stage you also approve each step (section 4); approving a step is not a revision round. Further changes are handled through tickets, quoted before work starts, or covered by a care plan's included time.
6. Cancellation and refunds
Change your mind before we start work and we refund you in full. Once design has started, you pay only for the work done so far. For hosting and care plans, see section 15.
7. Ownership
You own your domain, which is registered in your name. On full payment you own the site's content and design made for you, can download the site files from your portal, and receive a licence to use any open-source and third-party components under their own licences. Stock photos are licensed for web use on your site.
8. Hosting and care
Hosting is not included in a project package. Under the Hosting plan we host the site on our own servers, keep SSL valid, monitor uptime and keep backups for 7 days, and reply to support requests within 5 business days; updates and edits are not included and are quoted first. Under a care plan we also handle the edits the plan includes, replying within the stated business days. We do not guarantee any particular uptime percentage; we report what we measure.
9. Accounts
Accounts are free. Keep your password private. We may suspend accounts used for abuse.
10. Liability
Our total liability for a project is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect losses, including lost profit or data held outside our systems. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, the home of TRACIO Limited, which trades as Bytyn. This does not remove any consumer protection that applies to you where you live.
12. Consumers: your 14-day right to cancel
If you buy as a private person in the UK, the EU or the EEA, you may cancel within 14 days of your order without giving a reason, by emailing hello@bytyn.com. If you asked us at checkout to start work within those 14 days, you pay for the work done up to the day you cancel, and the right to cancel ends once the service is fully delivered. Refunds go back to the way you paid, within 14 days of your cancellation.
13. Referral credit
Clients get a personal referral link in their portal. When someone who used your link pays for their first project with us, you receive €100 credit (or the same in pounds or dollars). Credit is used automatically on your next order or bank-transfer invoice, cannot be exchanged for cash, and expires if your account is closed. You cannot refer yourself or an account you already control, and each new client earns one credit only. Credit is given when the referred order is paid and is taken back if that payment is refunded.
14. Date guarantee
Live on the agreed date, in writing. In plain words:
- Every package has a stated timeline in working days (Monday to Friday, not counting bank holidays in England and Wales): Page 2, Brochure site 3, Launch 5, Redesign 7, Complete start 7 (from the interview), Business site 10, Shop starter 14.
- The clock starts when all three are true: your payment has cleared (card payments at once; bank transfers when the money arrives), you have confirmed the brief, and all your content is in the portal. Content means the texts for each page, your logo (or a request for a wordmark) and photos (or a request for stock photos). On Launch and Complete start we write the words, so only your logo and photos are needed. Your portal then shows the date.
- Approvals: reply within 24 hours (one working day). Each further working day an approval from you is outstanding moves the date by one working day. Send changes as one consolidated list per revision round; extra rounds are paid and move the date. The portal shows the new date.
- Express (Page, Brochure site and Launch, paid add-on): live in 1 working day on Page, 2 working days on Brochure site and 3 working days on Launch. At most 1 express project a week. All content must be in when you order; ordered before 12:00 UK time on a working day, the clock can start that day. The same approval rules apply. If we miss an express date, the express fee is refunded in full, to the way you paid.
- If the site is not live by that date, you get up to 2 months of the plan you booked (Hosting, Care, Care Plus or WordPress care) free. If you did not book a plan, you may take 2 months of Hosting free. Apart from the express fee, there is no cash back.
15. Plans: minimum term, notice and yearly billing
Monthly plans run for at least three months from the start. After that you can cancel with 30 days' notice. If you cancel during the first three months, the plan ends when the three months are over; you can give notice at any time and we schedule the end date for you, shown in your portal.
Yearly plans are paid for a year in advance and renew each year. We email you 30 days before each renewal. If you cancel, the plan runs to the end of the year you paid for and is not refunded, except within your 14-day right to cancel as a consumer (section 12).
Card plans can be managed (card details, invoices, cancellation) through the secure Stripe billing page linked in your portal; the same minimum term and notice apply.
16. Sites launched without a plan
If you choose not to take a plan, you get the site files to host anywhere. We keep the site online on our servers for 14 days after launch so you have time to move it, and email you at launch and 3 days before those 14 days end. After that the site is taken off our servers unless you add a plan.
Self-hosted sites: we're not responsible for security, availability or payment processing after handover. That includes shops: if you host a shop yourself, security updates, backups and keeping payments working are yours.
17. Included time and extra work
Care includes up to 30 minutes of changes per monthly period, Care Plus and WordPress care up to 60 minutes; Hosting includes none. A period starts on the date your plan started each month (also for yearly plans). Unused time does not carry over. Work beyond the included time is quoted first at $88 an hour in 15-minute blocks (Hosting: at least $66 per change), in your currency's price list. Nothing extra is charged without your approval in the portal. Approved extra time is added to your next invoice or card payment.
18. Paying 50% now and 50% at launch
For packages from $1,320 you may choose at checkout to pay 50% of the project price with the order (the deposit) and the rest before launch. The deposit is rounded up to a whole unit of your currency; the balance is the exact remainder, so the two add up to the price. Add-ons ordered with the project are split the same way; add-ons ordered later and hosting or care plans are billed as usual.
- The balance is invoiced automatically when you accept the review (or when the project moves to Deploy), and is due within 14 days. If you paid the deposit by card you get a link to pay by card; otherwise you pay by bank transfer.
- The site goes live on your domain once the balance is paid. Until then it stays on the private preview. We may agree in writing to put it live earlier.
- Cancellation (section 6) applies to the whole price, deposit and balance alike: Change your mind before we start work and we refund you in full. Once design has started, you pay only for the work done so far.
- Ownership of the content and design passes to you on full payment (section 7).
19. Don't like the first design? Get your deposit back
On packages with a design stage, if you do not want to go ahead after seeing the first design, tell us before you approve it. We cancel the project and refund what you paid for it (the deposit, or the full price if you paid in full), to the way you paid, within 14 days. This applies once per client and ends when you approve a design or request design changes beyond the first round.
Founding client price
While places are left, up to 10 clients may take 30% off a project package in return for agreeing to a case study about their project (which they see before it is published) and a genuine review after launch, in their own words. The review is incentivised by the discount and is published as such; it does not have to be positive. Places are counted from paid orders. The discount applies to the project price, not to hosting or care plans.
