Analytics without cookies (Umami)
We count visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool that runs on our own server. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and does not follow you to other sites. It tells us which pages are visited and which steps of buying are reached (for example “checkout viewed”), never who you are. Because it stores nothing on your device, it runs without asking.
Product analytics (PostHog)
We use PostHog (EU servers, through our own address bytyn.com/ingest) to see which pages are visited and which buttons are used, for example “Book a call” or WhatsApp. What you type into fields and forms is never sent. Before you make a cookie choice, it works without cookies or browser storage: a new random id on every page load, so the id does not carry over to your next visit. If you choose “Accept all” or tick Analytics, it also stores a random id in a cookie and in your browser’s storage so it recognises a returning browser. If you choose “Reject all”, it stays cookieless. PostHog also stores your IP address with the approximate location (country and city) derived from it, and records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, the page as you see it, load and network timings), for every visitor whatever you choose in the cookie banner. Everything you type and all text in forms is hidden in your browser; card fields, the portal, admin and checkout are never recorded. Visit data (including IP address and location) and recordings are kept for 30 days, then deleted. We do this to find and fix confusing pages, tell real visits from bots and see roughly where visits come from, on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by writing to hello@bytyn.com.
| Name | Purpose | Provider | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| ph_<project key>_posthog | Only after “Accept all” or Analytics: a random id so visits from the same browser can be told apart; also kept in localStorage | PostHog (first-party cookie on bytyn.com) | 1 year |
Booking calendar
Our booking page is built into this site. It sets no cookies and loads nothing from a third party; the time zone is read from your browser to show times, and is stored only if you book.
Google Analytics (analytics cookies)
Only if you choose “Accept all” or tick Analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used (pages, buying steps, purchases with order reference and amount). We never send your name or email. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4, and Google signals are off. Before you agree, nothing is loaded from Google.

| _gid | Tells visits from the same browser apart within a day (a random id); Google may set it, and we delete it if you withdraw consent | Google (first-party cookie on bytyn.com) | 24 hours |
Google Ads (marketing cookies)
Only if you choose “Accept all” or tick Marketing, we load Google Ads conversion tracking to learn whether one of our ads led to a purchase or an enquiry (order reference, amount and currency, no name or email). We do not use it for remarketing lists.

Data sent to the United States
Google may process the data from these cookies in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, so these transfers rely on the adequacy decisions for them; Google's Standard Contractual Clauses apply otherwise. This only happens after you agree. Details in the privacy policy.
Your choice
Google cookies are off until you agree. “Reject all” is as easy as “Accept all”, and you can change your mind at any time: . When you withdraw consent we stop loading Google’s code and delete the _ga and _gcl cookies set on bytyn.com (cookies on Google’s own domains can only be removed in your browser). We ask again after 6 months, or sooner if what we use changes. More about Google as a processor and data transfers in the privacy policy.
Removing cookies
You can delete these cookies in your browser settings at any time. Deleting bytyn_session logs you out. More in the privacy policy.
